Xiaoyan Zhao

Dr. Xiaoyan Zhao is the director of vegetable postharvest and processing department, Beijing Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, director of National R&D Sub-Center for Vegetable Processing, and director of Key Laboratory of Vegetable Postharvest Processing, Ministry of Agriculture. She is also a professor and doctoral supervisor of College of Food Science, Shenyang Agricultural University.
Dr. Zhao graduated from China Agricultural University with a Ph.D. degree in 2009 specialized in food science. She worked as a visiting scholar in Federal Research Institute for Nutrition and Food (German) from January 1997 to May 1998 and German Max-Rubner institute in 2006. Her current research focuses on fresh-cut vegetable processing, preservation and quality control including Effect of processing, packaging, transportation and storage condition on the qualities of fresh-cut vegetable. Dr. Zhao has received several honors including the National agricultural scientific research elitist, Mount Tai industry leader of Shandong Province (China), and she also served as a scientist in Technology System of National Bulk Vegetable Industry.
