Antonio Ferrante

Antonio Ferrante is associate professor at University of Milan, Italy, since 2016. He graduated from the University of Pisa, Pisa, Italy, in agricultural science, 110/110 cum laude (first-class honors) in 1997. He earned the Ph.D. degree in advanced technology in horticultural science at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Pisa in 2001, with 100/100 cum laude. In 2000, he spent one year aboard as a Visitor Researcher at the Department of Environmental Horticulture, University of California, Davis, CA, USA, in the Professor M. S. Reid's laboratory. From 2004 to 2016 he has been researcher/assistant professor at the University of Milano. He has been member of the scientific committee of several international conferences on postharverst and invited speaker on keeping fresh cut quality. He has been scientific responsible of Research Unit in an European funded project related to fresh cut quality monitoring using molecular tools. He is national coordinator of Italian postharvest working group in the Italian Society of Horticultural Science. He is associate Editor of Frontiers in plant Science Section Crop and Product quality. His research topics focus on transcriptional changes and quality evaluation in fresh-cut produce. He has been involved in international courses on Postharvest of fresh-cut as invited speaker. He is author of more than 200 international publications in peer-reviewed journals, 105 indexed in Scopus and 64 in WOS.
